IC Graduates Hailed Topnotchers in the 2019 Chemist Licensure Examination

Among the 457 passers of the recent Chemist Licensure Examination held on October 8 and 9 2019, Andrew Exequiel S. Tabilog topped the list with the rating of 92.25 % while Gerry Mark S. Gubantes got the 2nd Place with his score of 89.65 %. Both Mr. Tabilog and Mr. Gubantes are BS Chemistry (cum laude) graduates from the Institute of Chemistry, CAS, UPLB.

IC-UPLB wins 2019 AMY IP Awards

A pectin-based coating formulation for postharvest application to fruits developed by researchers from UPLB won the Grand Prize of the 2019 Alfredo M. Yao (AMY) Intellectual Property (IP) Awards – Professional Category. The demonstration and judging were held on October 10, 2019 at the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Headquarters, Taguig City while the awarding ceremony was held at the 45th Philippine Business Conference Expo on October 16, 2019 at the Manila Hotel.

IC-UPLB team dominates PACSiklaban 2018

Via landslide victory, the team from Institute of Chemistry (IC) representing UPLB reclaims the crown in the 2018 PACSiklaban at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Nurse’s Home Social Hall, Ermita Manila, eighth of April.

PACSiklaban is an annual national inter-collegiate chemistry quiz contest sponsored by the Philippine Association of Chemistry Students, (PACS) Inc. as part of their National Chemistry Students’ Congress (NCSC).

The team consists of junior and senior BS Chemistry and BS Agricultural Chemistry students: Andrew Exequiel S. Tabilog (team captain), Melvin A. Castrosanto, Joshua P. Gemperoso, Cesar G. Quizon, Jr., Rollan Paul P. Parakikay, Kim Leonard C. Bolandos, and Christian John G. Cordero.
