The UPLB Institute of Chemistry, in cooperation with the US Department of State’s Chemical Security Program (CSP) and US Civilian Research & Development Foundation Global (CRDF Global), will be holding a three-day training entitled “Chemical Safety and Security: Training of Trainors in CALABARZON” from August 3 to 5, 2016 at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay City. This training aims to raise awareness on chemical security vulnerabilities and best practices, and provide participants with the tools and strategies to implement chemical security best practices. Participants will come from public and private universities, laboratories and chemical vendors around CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Philippines. They will either have chemistry as their professional background, or working as chemical laboratory technicians for more than three years or member of national regulatory body (Philippine National Police, Department of Health, Department of Science and Technology, Laguna Lake Development Authority etc).
